MEET THE MAKER
Albert Irvin RA (1922-2015)
Born in London, Irvin studied art at Goldsmiths College, going on to teach there when he graduated. Greatly influenced by the St Ives artists including Peter Lanyon, Roger Hilton and Sandra Blow, he nevertheless pursued his own path, achieving enduring international acclaim for his colourful, energetic work and distinctive colourful style.
