MEET THE MAKER
GEOFFREY ROBINSON
Geoffrey Robinson was born in Africa in 1945, spending his early childhood in New Zealand before moving to the south west of England where he has lived and worked ever since. Since 1986 he has joined the community of abstract painters who draw inspiration from the beauty of the British coastline, following in the footsteps of pioneering 20th Century artists including Ben Nicholson and Barbara Hepworth.
Since 1990, his work has been shown in leading art galleries across the south of England and in 2004, Geoffrey was the subject of a television documentary for Meridian Television. His love and knowledge of Ben Nicholson is readily apparent in his work, carrying him along his own creative path. The narrative elements within his work bring emotional depth to his skillfully composed and meticulously executed paintings. His work is in numerous private and public collections.
